Right, 4x4 insurance sorted with Adrian Flux... booked into the Nissan Dealers near my work to get the oil pressure warning light sorted (going on intermittently, probably just the high pressure sensor gone but I'm not gonna risk it with the ZD30 engine)... planning to fit the winch and bumper over the next 2/3 weeks... now looking at getting some black steelies to replace the flaky alloys :thumb2

Two questions -

Steel 16" rims available are either 7" or 8" wide :nenau reckon 8" gives more flexibility over tyre choice but what are the opinions?

and...

Am I right in thinking any Jap fitment steel rims will fit the Y61?

16 steelies in loads of widths but watch for the offset. Width is relevant to tyre width so what size tyres do you want ?

For the next set of rubber I'm looking to switch to Discoverer STTs as near as 32" as I can get on 16" (won't need a lift) either 235/85 or 265/75 then when I eventually get a suspension lift I'll be looking at nearer 33" either 285/75 or 305/70 (more likely 285/75). Looking at 0 offset rims, all suggested tyre sizes will fit on an 8" wide rim but the larger ones won't go on a 7" wide rim... reckon I may have answered my question... :nenau

3rd question, where am I best to get them?

8" then :D
Probably best deals for wheels are as a package with the tyres. There's a few ebay tyre deals with steelies :thumb2

you might be able to pick up a nice set of barely used coopers on ebay.

I've got some nice steel rims, like new but they are 15".

For a new package these guys are the cheapest: http://www.tyresdirectuk.co.uk/

If the set you want is not listed give them a ring.

I have a set of 16" alloys for a Terrano going cheep!:augie
Good condition, 4 have tyres on but need replacing due to cracks, one is a wheel with no tyre.

Mick, I'd be interested in these if there are no other takers.
Do you have a picture and a price in mind?

Cheers

I'll pop out to the garage and take some photos shortly.
I'll get back to you with a price also.

You don't know anyone with a smiley transit do you?
I have a almost brand new set of Goodyear M+S winter tyres, 195/14 on steel wheels.

Some photos as requested.:thumb2

I want £100 for all four, these are less than 2 years old and about 1000 miles on them, also have the wheel nuts as well.
I had these for winter use and some alloys for the summer, when I sold the van the guy wanted the alloys, even though the tyres were half worn.

They are Goodyear Ultra Grip M+S 195/14R
Only thing is getting them to your part of the country.:nenau

They are labelled because the tyres are directional and I'm feckin anal!:D

They're not for me but a friend who has a transit may be interested. I'll pass on the pics n price n see what occurs :)

Barrbeast, sorry to turn this in to a for sale thread!

Mick, I'll take the 16's for the £75 cash for sure.
I'm off the week starting 26th October and might try to incorporate a trip to see the folks which involves passing Carlisle, otherwise I can come down the A7 and stop by Langholme or wherever you might be if at work. Are there any good days or times for you during the week? Just PM me and let me know :thumbs

Haha no bother folks :thumb2

Yeh Fez, had a good look through the tyres direct site, for some reason I can get 0 offset 8x16 rims £36 cheaper from them on ebay than on their website... :nenau very odd! The only difference seems to be the spoke design... and I aint that picky :lol

Won't be changing rubber yet, plenty left on the general grabbers for the moment :thumbs
