Indeed. Was keen to get a coat of primer on to see the extent of fine filler needed, Also to stop the rust build up over night. :thumb2
Really frustrating working from home and the weather's so good but bills need paying so paperwork needed doing more

Often find until you give it a light coat of primer you can't see the high/low spots no matter how long you stare at it:doh & as you've said the primer will help stop the over night damp getting at the shiny steel oh hold on I used the shiny word when talking about your motor:eek::lol:lol

Got the bulk of the sanding done now (on this wing anyway) Fine filler next :D

Is it ok Mot wise to have such sharp edges? it wouldn't be too bad if the sheet metal was folded over on itself.

I'm sure you could cut more away on the Troll

I'm not sure actually . However I had thought of putting some U section channel over the edge like old minis used to have :thumbs

I couldn't start with a folded edge either as it's a compound curve .
No worries I'll makeitfit :clap

That will work as there will be no sharp edge:thumbs if they tried to say no then every classic mini without the plastic arches would also have to be failed & I can't see them doing that:augie

I bought some of that plastic arch flare stuff and that was a sharp edge in my opinion. Never a mention of it on the mot.
Problem with that protective stuff is if it's not seriously stuck on the first bit of rough vegetation will see it off.

I don't think the mot will be a problem, more likely a police officer being picky :nenau

If they thought it was dangerously sharp I suppose they could fail it.
I think it applies more to rough, rusty bodywork not a nice clean, tasty looking job like Pete has done.

I was watching a police program a few months back and a boy racer had similar arches, was deemed a sharp edge by the police. Not trying to scare anyone just pointing out a MOT doesn't mean a whole lot in terms of whats allowed, Anyway not much police around this way.

Local plod and the Black Pearl don't get on  we have history :(
Any road up I'll have a bit of mini trim just for best :D

solid sharp edge like that will cut deep if you hit someone mot fail,as for finding ups and downs in filla after you prime it get a very light spotting of a colour on and when dry rub the colour off and it shows up where more work is needed.its called a guide coat.

I assume you'd give it a light spray of say the colour you're finishing it and when dry, lightly sand it?

1st gig coming up 25th July :D Just as soon as I get back from the Worlds :naughty

i use any aresol colour to hand but not the same as the primer colour.
