my truck is dead as ive drowned the aftermarket alarm and imobiliser it was in drivers foot well so got drenched could this be your trouble or a relay got wet?

Its not the battery leads that are broken under the terminals is it? This is a commonly reported problem on here.

Might be worth a look see, or even replace them just to be sure?

Ok here goes checked all leads none broken, all the light are coming up on the dashbut not turning over i tried another key thing the chip might be at fault but there is still no joy with that either.

Insufficent charge in battery to turn engine? Maybe battery is on way out?

Charge battery overnight, or try another heavy duty battery. When running check alternator is charging correctly.

Hi andy tried a diff battery still had no joy im now thinking it might be imobiliser now i got a friend coming round tomorrow to have a look for me to lets hope its something silly.

Hope so for your sake, them immobilisers are difficult things to sort.

if your getting a clicking but not turning over it could be solonid on the starter if you can get to it and short the two terminals with a screwdriver if it is soleenoid it will turn over.

make sure your in nuetral first mate

With a lenght of singles flex (taken from a mains lead) connect battery +ve to the terminal with the thin wire on it on the starter, It's easy to see and get to from the n/side wing. Make sure car is out of gear and the ignition is on, if engine starts when you connect this test wire, it's the little switch on back of the ignition lock barrel. About £24 fom nissan

ern1e it may be the ignition switch black cap on the rear of the barrell going, approx £38+ vat i believe from nissan.

I'm also having the similar problem with the clicking,

Replaced battery with a brand new one

Had new replacement connection on the back of the ignition switch

and Also changed the +ve connection on the battery

So what else can I do - the problem is not constant, and sometimes if I turn the key slowly it starts :x

Hi all i think i know what it is now but i will not say until tomorrow when i have a better look.
