STARTER MOTOR SPARKING

HI GANG .
Opened bonnet tonight and was told by a mate my starter motor was giving of sparks when starting .
checked wiring NOTHING SHORTING , looks as if it could be start of a problem . will check to see if starter motor is loose .if not :? am i.
is it power from the dark side

Could be worn brushes or dirt on em, a copious spray of wd40 or similar might move any dirt. thats assuming the sparking is inside, if outside almost certainly its loose and not earthing properly.
