Truck wouldn't start yesterday after going fine after I had cleaned the earth a couple of weeks ago. So looking at the small plug that slips onto the post on the starter (earth lead I suppose)I reckon its Knackered,I bodged it by pushing a piece of metal between the post and the inside of the plug and it starts fine. So as I care,nt seem to find any for sale, going to make one and run it direct to earth rather than through the loom like the original one is. It looks like it ends in four small wires on two earthing screws on the top of the engine bloke/manifold. Anybody see any problems with this?

str mtr

Have not looked at a nissan str mtr BUT i do NOT thing that THAT part is a EARTH wire !!!!!!!! check because if its NOT an earth wire and you connectr to earth then something is goin to go up in smoke roy:eek:

Please please please do not connect anything to earth unless you are 100% certain it is an earth connection..........or you risk serious damage fire etc

Starter is earthed via the contact with the engine block, battery main cable + is connected with large bolt terminal to the solenoid, small push on terminal is from starter key switch + , not earth, Rick
