Received an update email from the Peaks and this is what it said
Staying on the Right Track
Vehicles in the Countryside in the Peak District National Park
Update – February 2011
Works Begin to Repair Long Causeway
Work has just begun to repair the drainage and surface problems on the Derbyshire section of the non-classified highway Long Causeway (GR SK227843 to SK240844). Work started on Monday 31st January and will last about 6 weeks.
Although the route will not be formally closed whilst work is taking place, all users should be aware that large machinery will be carrying out works on or adjacent to the route.
It would be particularly helpful if users could avoid using the track if possible during the work as there will be considerable disturbance to the surface during construction and repair, and heavy use at this time will hinder progress and potentially cause damage to the ongoing repairs.
Works are also due to take place at Brough Lane, and at Chapelgate in the near future, we will keep you informed of these. We would be grateful if all groups spread the word to ensure that as many people as possible are aware of the reason for this work.
