squeeky clutch

Hi,
When I press the clutch down (with or without engine on) there is a squeeky/ dry sounding noise comming from underneath the viehicle and the pedal feels a bit rough at this point?

feels and sounds like something is dry and needs to be greased? any ideas before I start messing?

All Done!!!
Just needed some grease on the thingamawotsit (sorry I really have no idea what it's called?)
I will take a better look bofore I post nextime !!

It the bar at the top of the pedal that links to the master cylinder

also check for broken spring.

Oh well? here goes!! this is not going to be easy for me? :doh

Underneath? the clutch housing has a rubber boot with a black plate that get's moved by (I asume is a hydraulic ram from the clutch pedal)?? This just pushes against the black plate in a concaved type section, this was dry and making a horrible grindy feel and noise! A bit of grease on the plate and bingo smooth and silent!!! :clap
