So, I bought all new Wiper blades for my truck when I got it a month or so back and theyve been really good, but yesterday the front drivers wiper started squeaking on both ends of travel, I checked it's not hitting the screen rubber and can't see any obstructions.
I cleaned both blade and screen, but it's still squeaking, driving me nuts!

I get this some times too

Spray wd40 on the bass of the arm, the noise comes from the arm rubbing tbe plastic panel below the screen

Hi, I think you will find that the squeak is coming from the bearing on the shaft where the wiper arms fits, one of the two wears rather badly. If you pull of the little cover you can put some oil down ( not wd 40 to thin)the shaft to stop it but really you need to take off the rotating fitting grase the bearing and put it back.

If you leave it sqeaking it will be worn out the whole shaft wobbles and then the arm drops off ( when its raining ofcourse) and the wipers stop working, so then you are buggerd in the pouring rain and maybe the dark.

So everyone reading this should put some drops of engine oil down the two shafts from time to time.

Going to resurrect this thread, I have brand new Bosch blades and my squeak didn't go :(

I've checked and my drivers side shaft is very very wobbly and loose :(

How are these accessed? Do I have to go through the scuttle panel :nenau

I had this, so I removed the wiper arms and scuttle panel, then wedged some grease into the joints on the rods that connect the wipers to the motor, never had a squeak since.

On mine it was corrosion on the spindles and the nylon part of the mechanism was covered in rust stain. I took the wiper arms off and the top plastic cover lots of WD 40 followed by Copper Ease spray. All put back together with a big finger of Copper Slip Grease inside the seal. Never made a sound again.

Thanks guys :thumb2

Any tips or tricks for scuttle panel removal?

Skuttle panel was easy to remove, it was the wiper arms on my 05 plate that were a pig. Been told to pour boiling water over wiper arms to release them, after the event of course. When I refitted I smeared grease on the splines. Came straight off on the project truck so you never know you may well be ok.

I lubed my spindles with spray on chain grease as it sprays as a liquid before solidifying so my way of thinking is that in liquid form it runs inside the bearings.

I found if I undid the nuts on the spindle but didn't take them right off, I could give the arms a good wiggle and they came off without smacking me in the face. Another way is to get a small pry bar and lever them up, just be careful of where you lever from though, you don't want to dent your bonnet.
