squeaking drivers seat

my drives seat is squeaking like mad all the time, its driving me crazy!!
is there anything i can do or are the springs and everything gubbed??

IIRC the seat base's have a habbit of breaking & have to be replaced or welded up :roll: I know this has been covered before so I would have a good look through the body work section on this subject.

Hi rag1873 I can't find the thread either I know at least one member has had to do it but for the life of me I can't remember
Have you located which area the squeak is coming from by any chance ie the seat base or the backrest :?:

it appears to be the seat base, might rip it out tomorrow and see if there any welds that have come loose.

Think IanDouglas had a broken seat, Someone else too but cannot remember who it was now.

I have had a search around the site forums too but cannot find posts about squeaky seat.

Must be plenty of secondhand seats out there for very cheap money.

thats what i thought mav... need to go thru the scrappies and test the seats before i purchase one if it comes to it!!!

If you do have to replace the seat rag1873 you will prob have to change your seat foam & covers from the one fitted at the min so they match as you may find it hard to get a seat with the same trim as yours is a later model :roll:

thats what i thought sweety. i'll take the seat out tomorrow and see what the score is.
