I've found a rubber pipe sticking up alongside the oil catcher which pretty much touches the bonnet underside its so long. Theres no gunge on it and no visible sign its ever been clamped or clipped. Its only fairly small - maybe 12mm?

It seems to go down to into the depths of the engine bay and connect to the top of the front diff....anyone know what it might be? A breather pipe or something?

Just concerned in case it should be connected to something! :D

think you've just answered your own question:doh:thumb2

Just seemed odd Jocky, its not strapped to owt, just pokes up through a mass of other tubes

Follow it down and make sure it is a diff breather that someone has added:thumb2 People do some strange things with cars:eek:

mmmm don't think its an addition, looks to be properly connected and the truck hasn't obviously been used offroad or for anything heavy, never even had a towbar fitted - six years old with 60k-ish miles...so can't think why anyone would do such a thing....think i'll have to go and visit the Manuel...

yep breather pipe then..

poor landy owners have to make theres longer, as they are so short as standard..

Don't remember the breather on my T2 coming up that high in the engine bay.

pm the person to get yourself onto the map then..

ho thats me!

hurry up man , no activity on any other thread so we are all waiting with baited breath.

Have to be later; I'm being seriously inconvenienced by having to come into work today  how very dare they???!!:nenau

you call that an inconvenience...

id have to do stuff if I was at home..

Meet Mr Spurious Pipe...neatly clipped to the engine block on its way down to the top of what I assume is the front diff (just below n/s engine mounting?)....but as you see, loads of it flopping about in the breeze as if its meant to be attached somewhere....

That don't look standard to me:eek: My T2 didn't have that and I had the IC off numerous times.

Come on T2 owners what is it:nenau

Yet the fitment to the top of (what I assume is) the front diff looks kosher, although its way down out of reach....can't imagine anyone has bothered to mod it, but as you see, the pipe looks like it ought to be connected to something upstairs doesn't it!

So if anyone else has a T2 of that vintage (02 plate) have a look and see if you've got one for me?

Well..Did you find out what it's for?:nenau

Not yet - wifeys truck has one from same location but it goes under the block somewhere, not straight up like this one...too wet to grovel underneath and follow it :(
