ok i think i have it... looked at page 30 on the manual.....

so do i wind the torsion bar adjusters clockwise or anti clockwise

also im guessing with the torsion bars i could run out of thread... so i just rotate the torsion bars 2- 4 cog's at the opposite end

so if i undo the torsion bars at the adjusters do the torsion bars become easy to move around a few cog's or do i need to undo anything else

Clockwise (tighten) the bolt to raise the truck.

Not done it yet myself but I beleive you drop the adjuster off (slacken all the way and then turn the adjuster a few splines to get some more lift if you need to - wanted to do it at weekend but no time.

torsion bars

to move the adjusters on the torsion bars first i took the weight off the front end by jacking up and resting on axle stands.undo(anti clockwise)the adjuster until the bolt comes totally out.next i pulled back the dust cover(adjuster end of torsion bar) marked the adjuster and torsion bar with a paint marker.removed the circlip which was under the dust cover and tapped the adjuster off the torsion bar.then using the paint marks on the bar and adjuster for reference i moved it round(so the adjuster was as low as i could get it)4 splines which gave me about another 50mm of thread to use on the adjuster bolt.put the circlip back on and pull the dust cover back into place.then put the long adjuster bolt back in,run the nut on to desired height then put the lock nut on and job done.take it for a drive and see what you think.i left mine to settle for a week then re-measured the ride height and re-adjust if needed.

thats great guys... so the front is quite easy then ? couple of hours then ?

how about the back do i have to undo everything including drive shaft and i think about ten other fixings?

to compress the spring would a ratchet strap do the job? those cheep ones you get from the market.... then just cut the strap ?

or am i just playing with fire

Dont know about using ratchet straps to be honest. If the ratchet gives could be painful/dangerous.

Get a set of spring compressors. They dont cost a fortune, unless you wnat them to, and you can reuse them time and time again.

If you drop the bottom mounts of the rear shockers off the axle will drop far enough for the springs to fall out - take care not to over extend the brake line though.

Also you need to reset the load compensating valve to account for the lift - see manual.

dont know if you have done your spring lift yet extreme but here is a few pictures of the torsion bar adjustment.
fist take weight off front suspension and undo adjuster bolt.
IMAG0048.jpg

next pull the dust cover back and mark torsion bar and adjuster with paint.
IMAG0049.jpg

next remove circlip
IMAG0051.jpg

finally tap adjuster off of torsion bar and move round a few splines using the paint marks as reference(i moved mine 4)
IMAG0053.jpg

then put them back together in reverse order of the pictures and set up your front suspension to your liking.
hope this helps you out.
