spot lights

The nights are drawing in now and I want some good daylight on my truck.
Im getting hid spot lights for the roof http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390639998473?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649. an hid conversion kit for the main lights http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300948550355?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 and I was thinking of getting 4 of thesehttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300786323851?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 to screw directly on to the front of the bonnet. any thoughts on these on the bonnet?

they look good for the price even if they are a bit blinggy.
but for of the hid with the ballast would be as bright as 8 of these im thinking.

i think its ok as long as on a separate relay and switched but not 100%

I think it might be an issue to do with safety I.e. In a collision with a pedestrian all that hardware on a leading edge could cause a more serious injury.

I don't know though and I am only guessing.

the rally cars have spots on their bonnets and they are road legal(ish) so perhaps they have to be removable? a bloke near me has a mkll escort with two huge cibbies bolted through the bonnet with a brace bar rose jointed to the backs. looks class.

listed as day light running lights, so ok bright in sense folk see you but do they
actually make light you can see by, surely only like glorified side lights.

regarding bonnet, there are custom and universal spot light pods favoured by
rally drivers. imagine if wired to main beam doesnt matter how many or how high
you have them, even on roof providing not used to dazzle other motorists.

of course if have immense light on main beam will appear next to nothing when
return to dipped beam....might be worth having on an isolator switch as well
so can return to main beam then to dip and adjust your vision / night sight as you go.

good point tom.
I don't know if there bright enough to see down the road and im not after cool looks.
but using the hid headlights combined with the hid above cab twat lamps will be a great down the road view.
put them on when its snowing and you will be snow blind.
using 4 of these on the very front of my bonnet can be directed to the road directly infront of me with out snow blindness and showing any near verdges.

yuk! to both.
first one has the same lamp design as the ones im looking at but ewww!...
second one is massifff....
The small 6 led lights are only 2 cm in height. which would keep them snug on the lip of the hood.

It might be treated as a Mascot they have to be sprung mounted or fitted with a shear off facility to prevent / reduce pedestrian injury.
