OK, after some inspiration here, got my new roof lights wired up through a relay on a switch, but on another site there is a chap who says he has his wired like this and also to the high beam when he wants it
Question is, does anyone know if this can be wired in such a way, really want the lights to be independant but would love to be able to have them on the high beam switch also.
Help please

i guess you could...2 sets of wiring to them

just make sure you dont have both switches on at the same time or you'd get 24v and kill your wiring or worse

i think you can have a relay as a by pass for teh switch, powerd from the highbeem switch, but you also need a switch in that like also so they dont come on when you done want / need them.

but im sure some will tell you just HOW to do it.

i had mine done by an electriction did watch then as was at work

You need a 3 position ON/OFF/ON switch to do this. Its how I'll be wiring mine up - will draw something up and then post it.

I had some three way switches off ebay with little LED in them:cool:
So illuminated when on. Also got them in diff colours. So I've got blue for the main beam relayed ones, green for the fogs and orange for the roof ones(not fitted yet though)
I fitted the switches in the center consol where the window switches would be. Works a treat but found the blue LED a bit bright:cool: so I stuck a sweet wrapper on it...sorted:thumbs

Hope this helps - only a rough diag but you should be able to tell what I mean - )excuse drawing of relay coil).

Not really too much to see as all the wiring runs inside the roof and cross rails then into the cab through a hole in the roof under the roof rail foot and then down behind the a pillar cover
Heres some piccies of how they look both on and off

Yeah, I wanted subtle really and didn't want any more height on the truck coz of car parks etc.
CB is on velcro at the moment, this is one of the next jobs, need to sell the double DIN indash CD player and get me one of those stereos that takes an SD card then I can use the spare DIN to mount the CB in one of these
