Hi all got a 1998 2.7tdi terrano just fitted new front pads, and short section of rear brake pipe blead the side rear brake pipe was fitted but pedal seems a bit spongy when engine running but rock solid when stopped,no leeks anywhere any ideas out there.

sounds like you still have air in the system, I have never bled my brakes in the conventional way, (3 running t2's) I have removed the rear shoes and allow the pistons to come almost fully out then after a while (after getting new shoes ready etc) push the pistons back home, this pushes all the air back to the master cyl, same applies to the fronts push the piston back home with a G cramp then reassemble and pump peddle till pads in contact with disk again, all much better than shearing a bleed nipple, but more important I can do it on my own, Rick

Yeh thats how i done my front pads, but have been told that air can get into the regulater block on the rear end this is where i replaced a pipe, and the air can get traped ih there.

there should be a bleed on the valve but it may not move, if both bleeds on the back plates are free then lots of conventional bleeding, or with a large medical syringe or similar push the fluid back up the bleed hose you will need to wrap wire or a small cable tie around the bleed hose etc, but T2's are not a problem bleeding wise, Rick

Cheers Rick i will give it a good bleed tomorrow as both rear bleed nipples are free.
cheers Kelvin.
