Hi guys my near side outer cv boot has split and I really haven't got the patients for one of those precursor sticky jobbies !! I was thinking of changing it properly

Is it a big job ??

Would it be worthwhile changing the upper and lower ball joints while I've undone them ??

Are they easy to change ??

I will need to do my CV boot soon, I was reading somewhere, that you can turn the steering on full lock, and remove the shaft from the inner /diff joint and then change the boots that way, not sure if it's possible though.
Sure someone will know though...that's the great thing about this club:)

I wouldnt think that was possible.by the time youve undone the bolts on the diff youve done the difficult bit just need to undo top ball joint and track rod end and bottom bolt on the shock and its off in your hand:thumbs

never had any real success with the glue together cv boots, usually end up putting a proper one on in the end!

.

Guys do I need to take the driveshaft out of the gearbox/ transfer box if I'm only doing the outer cv boot ?

Can I not just leave it in and take the knuckle off and slide it over ?

Any idea as I want to get it done tomorrow weather permitting
