Speedo with km also?

Is its possible to get a dial showing km as well as or instead of just miles for a 2002 Terrano II?

if you can get one from a mistral(imported terrano)they will read in kms.

No mistrals on late models like that though.

You should be able to ave the electronics recalibrated so it reads in KPH and odo in Km.

Could inset a little box in the signal wires to times signal freq by 1.61 if it can't be reprogrammed.

That sounds complicated...I've seen those stick on dials which I think would do, must cant find one for a Terrano typically!

I have read of this being done on a motor home, I think the dial was created on a computer
and then printed off on a translucent film and the overlay stuck on the dial..

I'll have to keep searching, I found a Mistral speedo dial on Ebay but as you say they go up to 1997 model.

Hi all

I have a 1996 mistral import (they all are i think, sorry first nissan)

the speedo only reads in mph.

if a solution is found i would b interested.

There is a device on the internet that converts KMP to MPH Type in "Digital speedo convertor". this just tells your current display to show MPH. Or just use a satnav.

I've seen gadgets on ebay that change kph to mph for imports, maybe something exists to do the opposite?

Not sure if the existing scale then represents mph instead of kph if you see what I mean

Surely your speedo will have the KM in smaller printI know my MK2 T2 has

Are you absolutely certain? My 02 plate has miles in white in the outer circle and kms in red just inside that? I've yet to see a speedo that doesn't have both - how else can you drive safely in Europe?????

Is this for driving while abroad? If so I would say the best is to burrow a satnav that can show MPH /KPH I know my ones do.

or some time ago mate of mine who ran a classic car (mg if I recall) went to Germany. He worked out the main conversions and marked them on the glass of his speedo. He used a roll of that stuff you used to get to put pinstripes along the car, only a few mill wide :thumb2

Satnav is good but I need to be able to read the speedo in km for it to get through the French MOT.

See the laminated piece of card on the right....thats my conversions I am going by at the mo!!

Got to say I'm surprised at that one...must be unique to the 3.0 I guess but can't imagine why a european manufacturer would ever put an MPH-only speedo in for just one market....weird!

Try this company...they offer a 'self design' service which they then make up for you...might be possible to have them make one up for your truck in kmh

Having asked in Nissan Limoges the other day they said only the headlights need changing and that the speedo in miles only would be fine :doh
