Speedo With A Nervous Twitch

Whilst driving the project truck for mot this morning I noticed that the speedo needle although working twitches like a mad thing.

It's 1999 automatic.

That sounds like a poor connection between somewhere between the head and the speed sensor on the gearbox assuming like my old Terrano its electronic.

I'm sure my 1999 had a cable driven speedo & the cables do break down over time causing the flutter of the needle, I know from 2000 on they were all electric driven
