Trying to solve my speedo trouble and gear queries.

I changed my Mistral tyres from 225/70/15 to 235/75/15 like many people do.

This is the video of my rev getting stuck between 3500 / 4000 then change the gear only with release the pedal a bit. Let me know what you think :

The next video is the speedo going from 120k/h to 140k/h when it's really 110k/h to 115k/h :

I was on 4x4 but it does the same what ever I do !

You now travel 114mm more per rotation than you did before if the calculations here are correct..

So this has affected you ratios hence the loading on the box will have changed. You will also notice that once in top it will appear to be more economical but will have slower acceleration.

Overall you get the same out of it as you put in , every action having an equal and opposite reaction and all that.

Your gearingwith those tyres is pretty low even for an auto.

The standard manual does around 3800 rpm at an indicated 90mph.

The standard auto does 3000rpm at an indicated 90mph, which explains why its fuel economy is, unusually for an auto, as good as or better than the manual.

If you are doing 2500rpm at 130kph (which is just over 80mph) then you'd be doing just over 2800rpm at 90mph.

And why were you in 4wd? Was it snowing or something? Cos if it wasn't then you shouldn't have been!

thanks

thanks guys. I was on 4x4 because i was towing earlier and forgot to put it back until i saw the video. Please note i did not change the tyres yet. So What is wrong with it ?

Not sure why you need 4x4 if you were towing unless it was on mud or snow? Its important to be aware that transmission windup in small amounts is not a big deal as the tyres will usually scrub it off, but 4WD should only be used in very slippery conditions, i.e. very heavy rain, mud or snow....because otherwise your transmission will eventually give up.

No idea whats wrong though, but if you've got a manual gearbox and standard tyres I'd say your speedo (or a sensor) is knackered because your speed and revs don't tie up as they should.

Was towing a trailer from a field. The 4X4 gear is not the issue.

The issue in what ever gear is as you can see on the video the revs get stuck at 3500 until I decelerate.

Then the speedo is really off, and it's nothing to do with the Tyres. I changed them today and it does the same, 100k/h = 120k/h on the clock then it just keep going up up it reach 180k/h
