Evening guys,

My speedo stopped working a couple of days ago on my 2000 T2. It went jumpy before stopping and going up in blocks rather than smoothly as my speed increased and then next time i drove it wasn't working and hasn't since.

Any ideas on what the problem is and if it's an easy fix?

Regards,

Matt

Not sure on a 2000 model but earlier versions are cable driven, so Id say cable broke, Rick

Remove the instrument cluster, use a fibreglass pen and clean the contacts on the 2 plugs and sockets. It's not a guaranteed fix but bad conections on these plugs do cause instrument problems. I have seen one speedometer fault as a result of these contacts.

also at the other end of the speedo cable , it fits into the transfer box, there is a little nylon cog which drives the cable , the teeth can get stripped and worn on that :thumb2
