Speedo Cable Connection

Can anyone tell me how the speedo cable should fasten on to the back of the speedo?
Removed the speedo today to replace a bulb and it wasn't fastened on to the back of the speedo cluster.

usually there is a spring on the speedo cable. when the cluster is screwed in the spring is compressed and the pressure holds the cable to the cluster. so when you take the cluster out the spring de-compresses. so the cluster isnt fasend to the cable. its all in the spring.hope this helps:thumb2
