Hi just wondering if anyone out there has changed there oem speakers for some better ones just fitted my head unit and gotta say old davy grolton and the foo's never sounded so bad  was wondering what size the door and rear panel speakers are,i know im a lazy git but if poss would like to buy speakers fit um job done

its a 96 swb terrano keep trying to add this at the bottom of my posts but aint been very successful yet

hi rsaddo  The front speakers are 5x7" the back ones TBH I don't know the size as I disconected mine as i've got 6x9" ones in a parcel shelf that I made up, but I would think they'll be about 4" or 4x6" but I would check before going out & getting any for the rear.
I fitted a set of 6" 2 way JBL's into the front doors on mine & had to make up a MDF plate as they were'nt standard 5x7" size  I've found that the sound is much clearer now in the front. JBL do the 5x7" & 4x6" size's at a good price & they'll handle what your headunit will be able to through at them

Sweety,
have you got any pictures of your new front speakers fitted? I would be interested to see how they look.

Hi Toolbox  I don't have any photo's of the speakers yet but will in a few weeks as i'm going to make some new mounting pods to angle the speakers upwards a bit more to try & get a better/clearer sound from them  At the min they are fitted to the adaptors I had for my mondeo after a bit of trimming   & are hidden by the door panel for a factory look. But I will be taking some photo's when I redo them incase anyone else wants to do the same

So you got the 6” in without having to alter or cut the door trim, that’s interesting for future reference.

It will be good to see some pics when you’re done mate.

The speakers are mounted onto a spacer which is fixed to the door, I did have to drill 2 new holes in the inner door skin to mount the spacer as I was able to use 2 of the factory ones. The magnets of my speakers go through the factory speaker holes & the spacer keeps the speaker basket (frame) away from the inner door skin. Their is quiet alot of room between the door panel & inner skin.
Hope this make sence
