sounds that I dont think I should hear!

I wonder if anyone else has had an issue where after unlocking the car and getting in, very occassionally I hear a sound like the central locking has been activiated but the locks dont move and Ive also noticed the clock time has changed??? I assume its some electrical thing but any ideas what it might would be great as its got its MOT and service next Friday so if its something that can be looked at I can tell the garage.

Oh and my radio settings are playing up.. not sure if its the same problem.. ta!

Check your ignition barrel/switch Sounds daft but try your key and see if it's a little iffy after starting to return properly to drive position :thumbs
Central locking servo not throwing all the way somewhere, maybe a little sticky and needs some oil

if the clock is affected as well as central locking, what about the stereo? I would check the battery terminals, both cables to battery, and the ground wires(one to chassis and two to engine block i think)

Could it be the battery +ve Terminal has Cracked like mine did and needs replacing.

Sorted it after posting on here about a dead dash board & was pointed in the right direction by the helpful chaps on here. :thumbs
I followed the instructions in the download and got it sorted.
Nice cheap too.

Yeah I do sometimes

Sounds like a -ve ground problem then. The whole vehicle is designed so that all negative terminals connect to the body and subsequently link to the battery which is also connected to the body. Saves on miles of wire. Start with the battery -ve terminal and where it connects to the car body. Usual culprit for a bit of corrosion build up.
The point being as you get in you move the car and disturb a bad connection which causes various electrical bits to reset.

Oh thats a shame, I work till 5.30 and then Im going to a horsey meeting in the evening.. I lead such an exciting life! Ill get a list together and maybe I could sort out a visit as there are things even like fixing my front bumper back in place after a caught it on a fence post when reversing my trailer I know that a least one of the black plastic fixings had broken as I found it on the bumper! Doh!
