Somethings squeeking!!

Hi all,
My 2.9 sve terrano has developed a squeek together with what sounds like a dry rubbing sound, it is coming from the bottom wheel on the belt. Nothing is catching or rubbing though. I am not sure what the bottom wheel is connected to (no manual as yet) but give it a good squirt of wd40 and both sounds go away for a few hours and then return as though it has dried out. Any ideas, Thanks

hi sico40, i had the same problem, adjusted belts stopped squeak for a while but it returned, but a changed of belts cured it, obviously belts do wear, after a time they dont sit in the V of the pulleys properly and thats when they squeak :wink:

Hi, I had that creaking, squeaking, new belts cured it. I now have the old belts in the boot as spares......... bri :smile:
