No doubt manufacturers will introduce yet another generation of tamperproof screws...:doh
:thumb2
.
The screws Alex is referring to are not really Torx, they are a 5 point tamperproof Bosch creation that a first sight can easily be mistaken for Torx.

Guilty of putting this on Facebook first

I don't see a problem TBH as the forum has a FB page:augie:thumbs but on the main T2/Mav fb group page which i'm a member of like many others on here this forum often gets mentioned & links put up for it to hopefully gain extra members on this forum

Well this was a constructive thread :p

I feel anything I say or do on here gets heavily criticised by all the "experts" so I don't bother anymore... Now the tumbleweed is blowing...

Just to add my two pence worth while we are all being open.

I think that there is too much Alex bashing on here, OK if you need to post a comment for safety sake all well and good, but I feel uncomfortable with some of the remarks made towards Alex. Even the last new member had a comment made to her about Alex... :nenau

No wonder he is keeping his head down for fear of ridicule and the p!ss taking.

OK, point made, I'll shut up.

Defo +1:thumb2

I just remove myself from groups I get added to by other people if I don't want to join them and ignore friends requests if I don't have a clue who they are.
There is always a choice.
I've recently down sized my fb account and got rid of all the things that don't interest me.

I'm guilty as charged.
I've been a member here for 3 years and don't come on as much as my phone is constantly pinging with the amount of face ache groups I've been added to.

However I stand firm in be living this is the best place to be.and I have made a lot of friends here.learned a lot and would not give up my membership.
Rayt then best go fix my truck again

Me too! I've barely looked at my terrano all year & most of the time others have answered before I got there. But I'm still here cos I know if I do work on it, wanna give an update or need help this is the first place......although so far I have a fb album of my build of something like 300 photos just through ease & accessibility.

Well if honest, that's how I feel, it started as a once or twice in a while to becoming every other response was criticism of some kind.

I do like it on here, used to do 16 posts a day :lol I bet thats dropped now. Don't wanna see the forum become deserted but fed up of criticism, don't get any on Facebook, quite the opposite infact, you can see the appeal right?

Alex don't take it to heart, I was there too at one point....
I've felt it was because I was....erm....i am a woman :nenau:augie:p....but its not people just wanna look after you & your vehicle, sometimes it comes across as criticism instead of constructive criticism and at the end of the dsay everyone has different opinions and that needs to be respected :clap

There are atleast 2 fb pages.

One titled as per this forum that I set up as a secret group to use when the forum
was down or not accessible from say a phone.

Nissan 4x4 Owners Club

You'll see a link to it in my signature.

There is a a much larger and open group by another name on there too which
caters for non forum folks but also welcomes members from here too.

Nissan Terrano & Ford Maverick owners uk

A further search of fb reveals

NISSAN 4X4 OWNERS UK

with several forum members.

It is such a shame this happens on all good forums, eventually the only members that actually do anything to their vehicles stop posting for fear of criticism.
This could soon become a forum for arm chair off roaders & Chelsea tractor pilots.

That's a friend of mines group which I was asked to be admin on but the name of it has nothing to do with me:augie but the forum will get a few mentions:thumbs he also runs a pathfinder group

or me...:augie

I'm all for keeping mine on the road for as long as possible and having owned it for well over 20 years then I am most likely the longest serving owner, ok I don't have the oldest vehicle on the forum, there are quite a few of those, a credit to the brand, and of course their owners.

This forum needs the diversity to make the forum interesting.:thumb2

In fact if you remove all the posts and threads that have nothing to do directly with Nissan 4x4's then you will remove over half the threads and posts.

Extreme modding will always be done despite the brand, most of the technical issues on this site are to do with keeping these trucks running, and whether they are modded or not, all exhibit the same fault with the same fix, no matter how high the truck sits above the road.

Teehee, there are some funny comments being made, u can certainly Chelsea tractor a patrol, not sure about a Terrano though :augie

Don't know.... waxed mine the other day, and blacked the tyres, and did the plastic bumpers...

Mind you... mine is a Maverick, so exempt from any critism... lol

:lol:lol
