So I'm Deffo Leaking Coolant

While I was doing the bumpers on the Mav today I decided to whack a few mats under the car rubber side up to catch any drips as the car has been leaving marks on the drive.

The mats did catch a few drips and it was green so I know it's coolant

I got under the car and it does look like it's dripping as can be seen here;

I take it this is leaking from the water pump?

Is it new water pump time?

looks like it, QH one form factors should be under £60 and you can change it without removing the rad :thumb2

you will be surprised the difference it makes to the fan cutting in and out too :thumb2

yep thats where they usually leak fro m simple job if you remove the rad prob worth fitting new belts while your doing it

That's the bit I was trying to describe, where mine was dripping.

Interestingly, it looks like you only have 2 belts to worry about, I take it you do not have Aircon.

Good luck, it's not too bad a job, and as said, definitely worth doing the belts at the same time, as they look like real pigs to do with everything in place.

I went for the Rad removal approach, as with my current luck, I did not want to risk damaging it. Think it would be a bit tight with it in there.

can do it with the rad in situ but remove the fan blades first even then u may scrape a knuckle or 8, just so you know there is a small pipe up there with a jubile clip on it, i had a leak and thought it was the pump it turned out the jubilee clip ws loose maybe worth a look a quick check could save you some money time and skin
