'scuse my ignorance but what are "sliders"

Rock sliders and tree sliders.

Basically reinforced and lower profile side steps, that will take a knock without breaking and can be jacked on. The tree slider bit sticks out sideways from the rock slider a bit like a step but more heavy duty and can be leant on a bit when turning round trees etc

Si you made made any of those?

HB I think we're going off course here a bit but doesn't that defeat the point of lifting the body up etc to get more clearance?

Heres an example - on a landy though.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GUARDIAN-H-D-DEFENDER-90-ROCKSLIDERS-ROCK-SLIDERS_W0QQitemZ120307555693QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item120307555693&_trkparms=72%3A12|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

It does defeat the object a little but then cills don't tend to be a catching point but they are expensive and difficult to replace if you do damage them.

With bodylift te main gain is in clearance for larger tyres so theres no object to defeat - any "armour" inherintly reduces clearance but the good thing about it is you can slide on it so its not so bad.

omg, first time looked at this thread, what a bad mod i am, thinking
just another snorkel chat

bumpers to die for...

food for thought as much as i like the idea of lifting also favour the
bullet proof stock look if you know what i mean. one of my plans
is something more along lines of the old camel trophy discos, along
expedition lines. winch or not good hi-lift points all round and better
recovery points, protecting vehicle and/or removal of vulnerable bits etc.

well that was how it started, i though £200 wasn't to bad.
but the pics i got from then started us all off

sorry rbrt it was ment to be about snoks

nice one! dont forget rock and tree sliders too

must say that tow bracket with removable hitch is nice, on my
plans but suspect designed to work with reg plate in standard
positon, personally wouldmove it so receiver was higher and
improve departure angle, nice pic to show a friendly welder though..

pics and links stoped working since the move, will add the pics afain later when ive found them
