just to add to this, if you have puffs of smoke from stand still, but no continuation after that, and the smoke is either black or grey...whats that mean? you know when you put car in gear to set off, tap the pedal and a puff of smoke appears, then quickly disappears and doesnt continue on acceleration...if that makes sense?

Probably an injector not atomising properly at idle but clears on greater fuel delivery, the small amount of unburnt fuel in that pot gives the puff, Rick

perfect, makes sense, im definately buying three new injectors asap...!

After playing today  :augie

I need 4 injectors  :doh :(

just posted for some injectors in the wanted bit, cncfabs reckons take them to a diesel place and get new nozzles fitted.

How long does it take.?
i.e. take them out at the place, let them do there magic & put em back in.?

dunno. There's a fair bit in the manual about testing the nozzles, and to be honest it looks like a job for the experts.

Re conditioning injectors is deffinately for the experts, you have to have the test gear to set them up, if a specialist is not too busy I guess they could do 4 injectors in a morning, Rick

Is fitting new or replacement injectors a diy job ? I'd imagine a morning's labour charge reconditioning and setting up old ones would make it more expensive than buying new ones.

Easy to remove and refit you will need deep socket made one up myself all the ones i have removed from terranos have unscrewed easily.Think you will find its much cheaper to have injectors reconditioned unless you can find some old stock that they just want to get rip of.Seem to remember some one at work had some done on shogun around the £100 mark
