I'm at my wits end, this car has proved bad luck for me...

What with it being scratched, blown turbo, falling in the high tax band.

Now the air con and heating stinks....

I know what it is, a build up of bacteria, but which bit do I need to get to?
I have had the dash apart but cannot find the source of the smell, and i mean it stinks.

Any ideas, or am I going to have to put my hand in my pocket again...?

Mine stinks like grandpa's pants when the AC hasn't been on for a while but soon wears off. Try the pollen filter, there's a workshop on this little thing and see if it is blocked, damp or just stinks. If this filter is block it will cause a build up of germs in the ac system (air ducts). Various places of decontamination of the AC as well.

Unless you have a water leak?

it does work, had the same problem with my old renuault so i bought some and it cured it within a few days.

ive used both types and i find the one you set off and leave in the car are the easiest (second link)
comma do one and a guy on ebay does them cheap but i couldnt find them when i looked for it earlier i think they are about £6 and £2 postage if you can find them

Well I've given it a go... we'll soon see if it works...

Thats the one i just used and it worked well. In fact so well i just bought my wife one.

I kow i buy her only the best presents.

Well a day on... its still smelly, not as bad, I guess I have to give it a bit of time... however SWMBO is not happy, so i may have to take it to a garage.
