Hi all,
Have been running my 2.7 td Mistral on WVO 75% for a few months seems fine but has started to get a bit sluggish, engine will rev freely but takes ages to accelerate I have changed the fuel filter am I right in thinking it could be the mini filter near pump.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers

One of my friends used to get his filters clogged up on a regular basis he fitted another pre filter from a peugeot that had a heater element in it that heats his fuel up to 20 degrees now he changes this filter once every 6 weeks and has had no problems.
The biofuel also contains enzymes in it that will clean out the old fuel tank and fuel lines so be prepared to keep changing your filter for the first few months.
I also went to a break down the other night when a lorry was using biofuel and it froze so i dont know if they use anti waxing agents in it

Could be the filter. It could also be injectors choking and even the pump.

Use waste veg oil at your peril 8O

There is plenty of info on what it does eventually 8O

I am just in the process of building a fuel tank heater for my friend so that he can heat his wvo up and allow sediment to settle out this is ment to make wvo more reliable he uses 100%wvo and only uses it from indian take aways as its far cleaner than the chip shop oil they also change the oil every night

My bio supplier recommends using a 50/50 mix with dino at this time of year to overcome poor starting and potential gelling/freezing of the bio. Personnally i run 25-30% dino and it seems fine in bothe th T2 and my van

HI first try filling your new filter half full with redex rev the car as if stolen that should clear it I suspect it's fats if your using a pump and say a 5 micron filter the oil tends to heat up when pushed thru and when it cools later in the tank the fats gather in the tank and clog the mini fillter. with svo/wvo anything over 50/50 you should use some sort of pre heater
or go the full hog and run a twin tank.

hope this helps
