Hi folks, we are of to Slindon on Sunday in my new Patrol to put it through it's paces, joining me will be Dave driving my old T2 now with the dumper tyres on and stripped down a bit, there will be plenty of pics so watch this space, last day tomorrow to get it all together, Rick

I'll check in from that there Med in the week sometime. Enjoy mate

Will be interesting to see how you get on.

Don't forget the videos too. They're a must :D

I hope your not going to treat it like you do your off road motor Rick :lol

Are you doing anything to stop the rad getting mudded up mate?

No will not be doing such extreme stuff.

Yes blanking it off with two bits soft flat foamy stuff, reasoning that it will not work too hard and should be able to pull enough air in the gap between the air con rad and the engine one, but will be keeping a hard eye on the gauge anyway, Rick

All sorted, wheels changed round, splash guard back on that I removed to do all the belts, pressure washer loaded and 125 ltr water for washing off after, next post will be pics after the event, Rick

Just arrived on site, nice and clean

Back in the car park to see how bad the damage is, turns out as the water was so thick with mud it instantly blocked the filter which imploded and stalled the engine, once we got the intercooler off only traces of muddy water were in the turbo and inlet manifold was clean, so wound it over and away it went sweet as a nut, on the down side while I though I was dash camming the whole thing, when I plugged the chip in the last event was mid March, so think that it was not set to overwrite, but cannot confirm that as cannot find the instructions, suffice to say no video other than one of Dave on a climb, will try and upload that in a moment, good side is the trol performed very well did not get stuck once, used 4 wheel 2 or 3 times partly because I needed low box up hill and did not use rear diff lock at all, I did find the wide tyres struggled in deep thick mud as they pilled it up in front instead of cutting through it like the skinny 7.50x16's do that was one of the times I needed low box but not 4 wheel, Rick
