Should I go or should I stay?

Well my membership ran out at midnight, and this morning I thought about renewing or not. To be fair... I had to think about it. Not for long though lol...

This is the first year I let it go "red" normally I have paid within a few minutes of the renewal notification.

So what has changed since last year?
Personal health and circumstances have changed, and my concern this year is I am going in for surgery on 11th March, for a replacement shoulder, which I have mentioned before in a jocular way... My "upper ball joint" needs replacing lol.
But now the reality is here... it makes you think...eek:

I am busy trying to get all those jobs around the house done prior to surgery, and one thing left is to do my own pre MOT on the Mav, as when I have the surgery, I will have my left arm in a sling for three weeks and unable to drive for another three.
The Mot isn't due until late April.
So I have renewed my membership of course, and you can expect to hear from me even more...:doh:doh
I will still have use of my right arm...

So you are stuck with me for another year, ohhh and Zippy.. please don't ask for any pics of the surgery lol

Ohhh and Alex, when I mentioned upper ball joints, please don't suggest I get them from Milners, I'm sure the surgeon has a suitable source, albeit way more expensive.... well I hope so anyway, I have paid enough into the NHS, so now it's " Payback Time":thumb2

I saw the title, and first thought was Alex had taken the final step into turning into Ryan. I am sure Ryan also turned his truck into a "Wanabe" landrover just before he asked the same question (several times). :augie

Then saw it was you, who had started the thread and thought... oh no, he has sold the Mav.... Ironically that was far more of a shock than thinking Alex had turned into Ryan...

I think you may have a few years left, after all, the NHS consider it worthwhile starting to do a restoration on you, just make sure they spray plenty of underseal around as they replace it... Oh, and while they have it all off, you may as well get your tracking aligned, I doubt it has ever been checked in the past, and may be a little off after all this time.:naughty:thumbs

Good luck, with the op, and even if the truck does give you a hard time, while you are on the back of the recovery truck, I am sure anyone of us around your way, will be willing to help you out, just for the prestige of working on a 20 year old T2...:doh

Thanks guys for all the best wishes, I'm sure everything will be fine, but this is my first surgery, but then I am coming up to a major birthday, and I'll be three times older than my mav lol....

I'm looking forward to getting my 10% B&Q discount card lol... ironic really, as I have the time, but no inclination. Having said that, over the last few weeks I have been refurbishing the down stairs cloakroom, which included routing all the pipes through our attached garage and not nailed to the skirting board, and down the wall, my wife hates that.
New floor tiles, as apposed to carpet, new vanity basin with storage under, a new towel radiator fitted on a different wall.
I have been doing a few hours a day, so only the loo to refit now, wash basin connected and checked for leaks, all fine so far.
While I was at it, I ran some pipes to the top end of my garage, with the off cuts, so I can plumb in an old washing machine we have... so can use this for overalls, gardening clothes etc.
The washing machine still sort of works, but likes to have a walk about, so we bought a new larger one last year.
Yes... I'm too tight to throw it out lol...

Best of luck with the operation. If it's any comfort my next door neighbour had his done last year and it went just fine - he was a tad over 75 years of age and is back on the golf course.

Well I'm not so sure... I got loads in my hair over the years... and that "STILL" fell out lol. :lol:lol

I must admit, that this is the only site that I subscribe to that I have mentioned this on, and that is because I feel we are all part of a very close knit family.

I now fully understand why Briggie has stayed with us.:thumb2

You might wonder why I email at odd hours of the night too... well hopefully after the op, I won't have the pain that keeps me awake at night lol..

Re golf, I asked the doc if I will be able to play golf after the op, she said Yes,no problem at all... I said that's great.... I couldn't play before lol...:lol
The old uns are the best... oh that reminds me... now how old is my Mav?
