should both rear wheels turn freely when raised

ive seen lots of posts reguarding diffs & brought to my attension mine, it was on the 4 poster wheels free to turn i turned the drivers rear wheel to the front which turned nice & freely i also noticed the passenger side turning in the same direction to the front also without any effort ...... is this normal as ive read posts which say it should be hard to rotate not sure which is right ..oh im gonna change the oil very soon too but it drives great no kicking on roundabouts or corners

Yes sounds fine.

jack up one rear wheel under rear shocker, car in neutral, hbrake off, you should not be able to turn wheel as diff should lock up

no its working right should be hard to turn if only 1 wheel was off the ground:thumbs

Just be careful when you tighten the wheels back up though :augie
