Longer shocks on the back , as other thread, and then wind up the torsion bars for the front. You can get about +2" that way and still keep some functionality from the independant front suspension that way. Any higher and the CVs will go and the ball joints fail pretty quick too:doh

i have no idea how to do the tortion bars, have been looking throu millions of pages of forums but still none the wiser...would you be able to help explain how.i also have to do it on my L200 that has a massive lift on the back but not the front... look stupid at the mo!

Simples mate :D
Just look under your seat where the cross member is. You'll see at the end of the torsion bars a lever with a big bolt through it. Two lock nuts above it. S:Dlacken the nuts and wind up the bar by tightening the bolt till the front is about 20mm lower than the back ish (well it is on the road anyway) :thumbs Then tighten the nuts again:cool:
You can do a search here on the download section for the proper way if you want :lol

will try this tomorrow. will let you know if i am successful :)

what is the maximum lift you can get from it?

just building a roll bar at the moment, is there any companies in the uk that see off road parts for these things... simple things like suspension lifts, bushes, etc etc?

its been easier with all my other toys :)

this is almost how it is not... just building a rollcage for it,bit of a bodge job but it is strong :D
will post pics later :D

Personally don't spend to much if it is just for off road. You can adjust the front torsion bars but don't go more than 1 inch on the lift, Any higher and you will get problems with the steering and drive shaft angles and you will not get any more articulation.
I lifted the body 60 mm and fitted 32'' tyres to get me the room under the diff. To do the body lift i just purchased a 1 meter length of 60mm polyurethane bar and cut it to 60mm and then drilled a hole in the middle. The hardest bit was finding the longer bolts.
For the back end remove arb and fit longer shocks. If you remove the shocks and then cross axle it on the hill you drove up and measure up for the new shocks.

Look at 1.53 and you will see how much articulation you can get at the back

it is amazing where the car will go. If you push to hard you will snap front drive shafts i have broken 4 now.
Have fun Tommo

Hi
Just remembered i have fitted dislocation cones on the rear. These are from a land rover but had to be adjusted slightly. I have also fitted longer springs but now you have cut the back off the standard springs will be ok.

Tommo, do you want some stronger front drive shafts I found a company who'll make them :sly
Also is that since you put the Lokka in?

Hi Makefit
I have only broken 1 shaft since putting in the Lokka and that was because the car landed funny when going over some very bit tyres.
Out of intrest how much are they asking for the stronger shafts.
