B and Q is anything but a trade centre, it'll rip your fookin' arms off :doh
Just go to any Plumbers merchants and enjoy the real price of waste fittings :thumbs
Rain water down pipe is a perfect size for the 2.7 and rigid as a Nun's candle :D

Parts list...

Starting at airbox. Measurements take into account silicon angles which are longer than drain pipe angles, so your pipes would need to be a bit longer.

Way to fix pipe to airbox. I used a 70mm aluminium flange.
Short length of silicon to join the flange to short bit of solid pipe to pass through wings.
90 degree bend to head back along wing.
400mm of pipe
30 degree bend to start heading up the A pillar.
600mm of pipe to go up A pillar
45 degree bend to make top of pipe vertical for Snorkel head to sit on.

Way to blank side hole of air box.
Cone air Filter (89mm twin cone, fits in airbox)
Way to fix cone air filter to MAF housing.

Mines home made the bit that comes outta wing is a lorry light bar the air filter is a jimny filter from eBay and straight pipework through wing to turbo

if you don't even know what to buy from a plumbers store just buy a proper snorkel

So being a noob like me, I can go to a plumbing shop and ask for these?

I ain't all "ello mate, ta da mate" I haven't a clue squire :p

have a look at the different snorkel builds that peeps have done to give you an idea of whats involved.
but like fez says easier just to buy one ready out of the box that bolts straight on.:thumb2

As you readily admit Alex, if you're not a hands on ish kinds guy, I'd go for the pre made ones.
It'll get you a good result pretty much out of the box with minimal tweaking ;)
Mine probably only cost me a few quid but then I spent a couple of days on it probably
