Shocking 'Gromit'

Hi all, my mav is suffering with 'pitch & yaw' as i've be told from worn out shocks - my question - would i be better off fitting after market shocks from say Koni (think that's them?) or just nissan/fords own? Also should you replace springs at same time? Just to keep you busy - driving home today feels like brakes are on, pulling hard to the left, then, pick up my milk and homeward bound its gone - what's dat' then???? :? when i bought rears for my old mav they were alko make (caravan chasis people) if remeber top bolts bitve pig to undo so give em dose wd40 for couple days on trot an give thread good wire brush

yeah having trouble with 12 year old bolts alright - part of the fun i guess, any idea on the pull to the left?

i had blow torch on mine was really worried about snapping shocker top mount as its welded to chasis your pulling could be brakes and worn suspension your pads due yet maybe seized caliper if pads low good escuse to have looksy!

must get to that this weekend if i can as can be unpleasent.......unless you want to turn left with out thinking about it!!! Calipers it could be as mav was parked up for a couple of months before i bought her, anyway cheers for the advice Jace 8)

anyway if its pulling to the left i would look at the sliders in the right side calliper as they often stick!

Yes, from what I gather they don't even ask for a receipt as its a lifetime guarantee and theres only one importer. Obviously they only cover failures etc rather than them just wearing out but at the price they are why go anywhere else, and we as members get them even cheaper - result. Plan to upgrade to (much) longer ones shortly myself.

THE PULLING TO ONE SIDE .
feel wheel and hub and compair with other side if its draggin you will feel a differance in heat.
as plank said check sliders and see if piston is sticking .
DONT DO AS I DID AND SPRAY PISTON WITH PENERTRATING OIL ECT.
IT EXPANDS THE SEALS AND THEN ITS REPLACMENT TIME .
JUST GIVE A GOOD CLEAN USE A LITTLE BRAKE FLUID ON A CLOTH

There is a another thing with 'pulling' that i forgot all about and considering it is my pet subject a bit embarassing :lol:

anyway could me the auto hubs especially if they are running warn, there is laods of stuff on this in previous threads so best check them to avoid cloggin up with reposting old info, and a workshop download on cleaning and regreasing them I think!

But a simple nack i discovered was taking them off and putting a dollp;p of engine oil in the bottom this does sem to frr them up quite well :wink:
