Well, my T2 (which is in Spain) is about to become Spanish i.e it's going to be put on Spanish plates, so it will be all legal. Before this can be done it has to have a Spanish MOT (called an ITV) which is very strict. This was done today, and it failed on emissions and all 4 shocks. The emissions I can understand, as I get a big cloud of black smoke when I rev the engine - the shocks however I don't understand. I did the "bounce" test on all 4 corners, front 2 did do one extra bounce, which may explain why they say they needed changing, but the back ones when released went up once and settled back straight away, so either the bushes are worn (there is a rattle from around the area of the NSR wheel) or they are just being pedantic i.e. they had to find something! I can't do the work myself as I don't have the facilities or the tools, but I do have a local garage who has done work for me before, so he is going to clean the injectors and replace the shocks, so, 6 million dollar question, how much should I expect to pay for this job at UK prices (Spanish costs are about the same as England).

Just a quickie to bring my post back up. Anyone got an idea how much for a garage to replace all 4 shocks and to clean the injectors on my '94 T2?

don't know about injectors but shocks aren't difficult; I'd buy a set yourself from Milners and max two man-hours labour ought to do it?

re the injectors, its worth running injector cleaner through, especially if you can do a long hot motorway trip, then worth sticking some SVO in it as that reduces emissions :augie
