I will reimburse you for any losses you have mate , you've helped me so its only fair I help you :thumb2

Maybe the member has over looked it, and a cheque is winging it's way to you.
Yeah right...:doh

The problem with this episode is that, I like many have had free offers of help.
Members willing to go to dismantlers close by them to get parts for me and even drop them off.

I wouldn't see them out of pocket, even if they won't accept cash, we always have a bottle or two handy.:augie. Did I say they were full though ...? :lol

It certainly leaves a sour taste in the mouth. However, the majority of the members on this site are like minded and will continue to help each other, and I guess Rick will too, but as they say once bitten...

Don't forget we are a helpful club...
There are many members who still pay to be a member of this site, even though they are Nissanless and regularly post advice to other members, just because of the comradeship between strangers. I have never found a site more helpful and friendly.

I know that Rick, (like many other members on here) has also given his time and comfort to even leave the house to go rooting in his workshop for parts or sizes of items at midnight or even later.
I have done the same but as my garage is integral, I can pop out in my dressing gown...:lol:lol

Like any group of individuals, people come from all walks of life, and as a consequence have a mix of people with differing morals.

At this point I would also like to thank the " armchair " members, what I mean by that, is those that spend time researching information, data from manuals, searching ebay for parts, searching past posts and links to them, those that have strong opinions on issues particularly health and safety. Also thanks to those members who have taken time to post pictures and procedures This is what helps to make a strong foundation for the club.

Going forward..
Let's not let this one off incident, sour the taste of what is one of the best forums around.:thumb2:thumb2

Best regards,

Richard (Rustic).
Hear hear!

I'm glad it's sorted, I remember when you helped me out with a spark generator, that's going back a year or two, was it just after your party? - thanks again!

woo hoo , what a great party that was :thumb2

Rick,

I am sorry to hear that your generosity has potentially been abused by another member on this site, however your reluctance to identify the individual displays a great deal of class, which I stand in admiration of.

Without wanting to sound sycophantic, I have always been grateful for your contribution to this forum, and the skills that you readily and willingly impart to us lesser 'mechanically minded' mortals...

I hope this wont mean your presence on the site reduced, and finally I would be more than happy to make a contribution, as imagine others would, to help mitigate your losses.

With Regards

Alan

Couldn't of put it better myself.

Drink! Drink!

Who mentioned whiskey???? I'll have some:lol

Glad things are resolved Rick, I'll raise a glass to you:thumbs

yes it was a great party, in celebration of our conversion and occupation of the stables we now live in, but seems the council take a different view, and dis agree, even though they immediately slapped 4 years back council tax on us, talk about double standards, so the fight goes on, Rick

Does this mean another party? ;-)

all is forgiven, postage paid and spare returned, I feel bad now for raising the issue, think I will ask the mod to erase this thread, what is the consensus of opinion? I will be guided by you, Rick

Hi Rick

I think this post is important as it is a reminder of the boundaries and respect we should hold for each other.

At a guess it is a bit of a guilty conscious that resolved the matter.

sometimes name and shame is hard but a nudge in the ribs reaps just deserves.

also if the recipient is a victim of circumstance all could have been avoided with a quick chat.

there is no need to feel bad

H Rick, I think that the post should stay.
All the way through you have remained factual but refrained from saying who the person was, this way you and he/she can still hold your heads up high.
I know many on this site who probably would have named this person, so you have kept the posts to the point without getting personal.

This only goes to show what standards we expect on this site, and how we handle disputes to an outcome that doesn't cause embarrasment to anyone.
It is clear from other posters that we all try to maintain these high standards.
So we should keep the post, it demonstrates how serious we take these issues.

As always, you have my deepest respect.:thumb2:thumb2
Best regards,
Richard (Rustic)
