Service Pack

I've done a search and found this question answered, but that was in 2009.

When I had the Hilux Surf, I bought a service pack (can't remember where from) that included all filters etc. Is there anywhere that a service pack can be obtained for the T2?

Is it better to stick to genuine parts or will pattern do? Where to get? Ebay?

Fully synthetic or semi synthetic engine oil?

My T2 was made 21st March 2001, which? Up to 3/2001 or 3/2001 on wards?

Milners only do fully or semi synthetic.

So bog standard engine oil?

Should be fine, BUT don't try to get all 7 litres in, as not all of it comes out.:augie Check dip stick when 6 litres put in, including any in the filter.

Also part fill 3/4 or more, oil filter with new oil, saves starting up dry...

I use either 10/40 or 15/40 mineral or Semi synthetic, which ever is on offer.
mines a 2.7 td non intercooler.

I think I will plump with 10w40 standard oil. I've got a load in the shed that I borrowed from work when I left, but that was 7 years ago and might have gone off, I use it for the motor mower

Good tip about part filling the filter, no body wants to 'start up dry' do they :naughty

I'm def going 10w40 Mineral next oil change I do because mine has been tapping like a bastard since I put 15w40 semi synthetic Lucas in

I just did mine before Wales with cheapo semi synthetic 10.40.
My oil leak has slowed Considerably since.
I've got enough oil left to do another change in a couple of weeks.
Nowt like a good flush out.
