I have to agree, Volvos simply aren't cheap cars to run, especially used. You no longer have warranties to fall back on (like you do when you buy new).

Personally I do like Volvos like most people do, but they are for people with a little more money than I have got so I stay clear. They are big, heavy and so everything about economy is compromised, and although im certainly not saying DONT DO IT, I have to agree with the wise words of the guys on this forum and say think hard about what it is going to cost you, just to look at it when you have stripped it down and repaired stuff and put it all back together again. And god help you if the engine develops a problem.

Don't you like Saabs? some decent 95 Aeros to be had now and parts are ok and still available, I'd have a Saab over a Volvo any day.:thumbs

I used to break saabs nice cars but the engines are seriously flawed unless you have very deep pockets best stay well clear cheap to buy though

The ones that give trouble are the b205 and b235 fitted in the 95.The 93 didnt get the new engine until much later. All the saabs i bought prob 20 all had same issues crankcase breather pipes break up blocking oil pickup in sump leading to turbo failure and big end failure.Other issues as you say are coil packs and timing chains that cant be replaced properly ie new guides with the engine in situ :doh. But as for driving comfort and safety very good cars sadly not made any more

Sell all your cars and buy a VW Polo 1.2. Cracking little 3 cylinder and dirt cheap to insure.
And with the money you save you can pay your subs on here and still afford some sweeties:thumbs

Are you sure toby is out of mot? Thought it went through this year might be wrong
Any way i would ditch the idea of a volvo there for old gimmers with deep pockets
Get your test passed sell all the motors and get a van lot cooler and you can get a mattress in the back no probs
Im in the process of doing a vito up lot cheaper than a volks no matress in mine though its to fit the herd of kids ive got:lol
