Basically a lad doing his sponsored bike ride got knocked off and killed.
His Just Giving page is going great guns.
Terrible that he was killed but comforting to see the donations rolling in for his charity.
It was on £1200 at lunch, over £13k whan I just looked.

I didn't know the lad but was touched by the tale and gave a few quid. Passing it on in case others might think the same.
RIP

That is so sad:( same sort of thing happened to my friends Dad, they were doing a sponsored bike ride for charity when a truck went past & the driver steered towards the kerb & took the trailer straight over my friends Dad & to make matters worse my friend sore the whole thing as he was a little distance behind his Dad:(

It is on £37k now.
Won't bring him back but I think it is quite a send off for the poor lad.

I hope that driver gets the book thrown at em! Need to be put away for a long time!

The driver was an 18 year old girl. Arrested for drunk driving and dangerous driving, released on bail.
Tragic for her too. I am very aware she shouldn't have done it but I would guess that stupid mistake will take a toll on her. I am not making light of her crime and I expect the law to run it's course.

Very tragic story, but, I feel cyclists play a massive part in their own destiny while out on their bikes.
Yesterday I was tankering water around parts of Guildford areas in a 33 ton truck, this was fitted with audio warnings and visual warnings for cyclists to not under take on the near side in traffic, on so many occasions the Lycra clad army were all over the truck at junctions and lights.
It then takes an age to pass this rolling road block again and at the next hold up, the F***wits slither passed you again
Most of these prats know what their doing and seem to enjoy holding vehicles up.
I did see one try to kick a car, that was overtaking him, obviously Mr lycra thought the car was to close to him, but it was a good couple of feet away.
