Hi guys, I know that both myself and Don Simon have discussed locations for second batteries in later Terranos.
One idea has been to cut a hole in the floor, fabricate and weld a steel battery box. Thought about under the drivers seat. This will sink the battery most of it’s height under the floor level.

How feasible is this idea, would love to hear people’s thoughts. I’m just playing around with ideas at the moment whilst I’m confined to quarters.

I often thought about doing what you said, but under the rear seats instead, there is a huge potential void under there, and you would not reduce the ground clearance at all. I was going to use it for storage, rather than a battery as both ours have the conventional space in the engine bay.

It would be nice and easy to get to as well.

It’s a positive side of being ill, I can sit and plan things though it’s getting frustrating as I want to get on with jobs :doh

Right I’m thinking it needs to be around here more at the back I would like to keep the vent if possible suppose it depends on the battery I would like to make a space that would fit a selection of leisure batteries [emoji848]. Gunna have to wait till I get back off our trip before I start cutting

Also am I right I’m thinking fuel lines run around this area under the floor too

Fuel lines should be clamped to inside face of the chassis on the driverside, not inside chassis but the side of the chassis itself.

Always check what’s below anyway but I’m sure you’re not that daft anyway.

Haha well I don’t know I do just jump in with a grinder lol
cheers for clarification tho

If you go for inside the battery box should be sealed and batter vented outside,

Also no fixed in the battery locker
