Hi Guys,

I am looking for to change my seats and wonder if a 2001 terrano sits would fit my 1996 or is some serious work need to be done.

Off course leather would be better, but maybe I am dreaming.

I also looking for the wooden trim for the CD player and aircon.

Anything else from other model would fit and look better ?:clap

I bet the sub frames are the same:D
Have the newer ones got any electricery going on? \If so grab the loom with them, then it should just be spanners ahoy:thumbs

The MkIV, which came in around or slightly after that date, has active head restraints and side airbags in the seats, so there will be cabling to deal with and I don't know if you need to do anything to make those bits safe, so worth checking.

Not sure about MkIII (1999-2001/2) other than I can tell you the leather seats in this Mk don't have such frippery - but don't know if that means the MkIII didn't have the safety features period, or whether it was just the leather seats that made life too difficult to fit them?

Logic tells me that manufacturers only change stuff on a facelift when its either visible, more economical or necessary....so I'd default to assuming that the seat rails/bolts will be the same....but see what people like cncfabs (who breaks stuff fairly regularly) say....

My 2001 MKIII with 'cloth' seats didnt have airbags built in either :thumb2

Well there you have it, looks like the MkIII has the same setup as the MkII and only the MkIV has the additional safety stuff.

I hope someones keeping a note of this? LOL

i know mine is a commercial but it has no air bags or electrics to the seats, tomorrow i am fitting a set of 1996 rear seats and belts so will have a good nose and report anyhting i find - but you may have to remind me :thumb2

and you must have a MkIV....interesting, but I guess they had a lower spec for commercials, and possibly lower versions of the standard as well maybe.

I don't know abot lower spec as many commercials come with alloys and air con! mine doesn't obviously :lol

There was a Terrano Mk1 (and Maverick MkI) - the square headlight jobbie. Then (around 1995/6? not sure) came the Terrano II/Maverick (MkII).....the round headlight (separate fogs) version. Then around 1999 there was a modest facelift (MkIII) to the first 'new' square headlight (with integrated fogs).....characterised by its 'spiders web' chrome grille and the two cutouts in the lower front bumper, then came the second facelift (MkIV), around 2002, which changed bumpers again and did a few other bits and pieces (e.g. window switches all moved from console to drivers door), oh and also brought the 3.0 ltr engine into play as well as the 2.7TDi.

That, in a nutshell, is the history of the Terrano....all were produced in Spain, except the Mistral, which as far as I am aware, was a MkI Terrano produced in Japan, hence its an import with the oddities it has. So although logic says seat fitment ought to be something that a facelift doesn't need to touch, you never know, so it would pay to check at the scrapper or get sight of someones Terrano/Maverick first

We fitted 1996 MAverick rear seats in my 2003 T2 commercial toda.

The worst part is that almost all of the threaded holes in the body for the brackets and belts had been filled by a shear bolt threadlocked into place by nisssan! B***ards! They were a pig to remove, but the seats fit perfectly.

The only major difference is that the threaded holes in the body are smaller in the 2003 shell than the 1996 the seats came from, so you might have to enlarge the holes in the brakets if using newer seats.

Other than the above, I can't see any issues with your intended swap!

hi guys

I am trying to find some seats in Ireland at the moment, did not find any at the moment. Shipping from UK seems to be very expensive.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

I am confident the seat will fit if they are from a SWB if they are from a long wheel base, i would have thought the back seats will be different.

any body living in the north of Ireland ?

Hi Guys,

Need a small favor if not too much trouble. I need to ship my new car seats to NI and would collect from Galway in the next few days is anybody has some room in their garage.

The guy could not ship to Ireland for cheap enough and he asked me if I knew anybody in the North.

he would do the full set of half leather seat in really good condition for £150+ delivery.

I know it is a lot to ask so don't worry if you can't.
