No sooner have I dissconected the bonnet sensor (to stop the alarm going off at all hours), than 2 weeks later the seat belt warning light has started to constantly flash. Is the car trying to tell me something I wonder?
I've checked for loose wires under the seats & am now contemplating taking the bulb out LOL. Does anyone have any suggestions for other things to check?

Sounds like the seat pad sensor.

Does your drivers seat get moved back and forth for different drivers regularly? My airbag light occasionally does it when seat is moved, all I do is reach under seat and push connectors together.
Also could it be a faulty door switch?

Shows how much notice I take I hadn’t realised my 3 litre had the seatbelt warning :doh

is it not the same light as airbag light,i felt under nearside front seat and felt wires then everytime it came on so took it to my garage mate and no fault code but he cleared light coming on sfter 2 attemps.

Mine doesn't have a seatbelt light:nenau
Well I haven't seen one

is it not the same light as airbag light,

Yes it is: silly me. Got confused with daughter's L200 which does have one & even beeps at you if you don't wear the belts! At least I'm spared that annoyance LOL.

Am progressing round the door switches at the mo. Don't quite see how they work as there is only one wire & no obvious earth return. I presume it must be the mounting screw? How can I tell if one is faulty?

Onward & upward......

Have just come across another post re: driver's side door switch which, apparently, is more complicated than the rest. Looks like this may be the more likely culprit. Unfortunately I have to move two cars to get to that side so it will have to wait a bit longer LOL.

Door switches use the body as earth. Basic principle was permanent positive feed to interior lamp and switch earth with door switches. Unfortunately due to progress this is now more complicated.
If it is airbag light flashing it is nothing to do with door switches. Check the download section as there is a airbag reset instructions. Try that first.

To my amazement (& great relief as it's now a potential MOT failure) the download worked! Thanks for the suggestion 'jims-terrano'! This site has saved me yet again. Checked all the plugs under the seats but couldn't see anything amiss, so not sure what caused it to start acting-up but very happy it has stopped LOL.

I get the impression my air bag light should never have had a flashing stage, is that right? It now comes on for several seconds & goes off. Since I've had the car (6 years) it has always come on for approx. 3 secs. then flashed for approx 4 secs, then gone off. The car was a cat 'c' right-off (minor front bump) when I bought it so maybe that was something to do with it, but it's always passed the MOT without any mention.

Anyway, all is calm (at least for the time being LOL) & long may it remain so.

During winter the light started flashing each time the drivers seat was moved but since the warmer weather has come it seems to of settled down. It’s on the gonna list to be looked at but it’s further down the list for a while.
