yes I think this is correct. I just checked some old photo's of mine, and I too was suspicious of this, I even unravelled mine to take the pics but a member verified this is correct :(

Thanks Clivvy just thought it looked a bit suspect! Have spent the whole day on this damn truck again today, firstly doing front links thinking i may be able to drive it later...:lol. Then stripped off intercooler again and cleaned connection to injector 1, then found the little hose that was perished on another members truck on turbo waste gate, but mine was fine just a little marked from spring clips. Tried to crank it and nothing, checked injectors still no fuel at 2, 3 or 4 but 1 seemed to have some fuel there!! Got my mrs to turn it over whilst I primed filter and almost fired!! Checked injectors again only a dribble at number1. Just cannot get my head around this at all, gone from starting and idling really rough to non starting at all not even close really!! Is there a fuel start / stop solenoid anywhere on these terranos that i may have disturbed when fitting new return valve or blocking off egr? Did try and turn truck over without intercooler on it , would this have sucked unwanted air into engine / pump etc. What is the correct bleeding system for these as opened 2 injectors at a time but still no fuel, fuel filter is full as also had that off again today and took pipe of to make sure fuel was flowing to pump!! You guys have been great with suggestions and help etc but just need a bit more inspiration before I start thinking about petrol and matches!!
Cheers Rich..:(

i think there is a fuel cut off solenoid, but id need to check where that is as I have neevr had this sort of issue before.

is the fuel filter definately primed? as in, the plunger is hard? plus, id have primed it BEFORE starting the car, or trying to start it.

hmm...can you video the issue? get the wife to try start it, and video the process, might help us see the problem (or hear it). its just I am not sure how far the cars getting through the starting procedure.

so, you turn the key in the ignition to start-what happens next? anything? does it attempt to start but doesnt, or does it just "click"? bear in mind, that all these attempts to start the car are going to flatten the battery...when starting, check the dash lights, are they dim, bright, or filckering?

will it start if you turn the ignition key very s l o w l y ? no, im not mad, its to eliminate a faulty igniton switch....

Hi Clivvy, I had primed it before starting but thought id just try and pressurise it while mrs tried to start it, turns over lovely as had new starter 3 weeks ago lights are bright on dash , no clicking as have charged battery every day for last week as has been cranked more than a few times. Changed filter a few times when i had my Mav but never had to bleed one by cracking injectors off or anything. Been through all wiring again today, cleaned all connectors again today, just cannot work it out at all!!
Cheers Rich..

oh ok, so engine cranks just doesnt start?

hmm...if it were the CKP packed in, you'd almost certainly have a code. I wonder if its a fuel-pump issue? have you checked the fuel pipes from the filter, right through to the drivers rear where it enters the tank? It runs along side the brake pipes etc, mine have been replaced but should be much bigger than the brake pipes-check for wet spots...

Was just showing code 18 again today but has actually let me clear it unlike the other day when it refused to let me clear it. Just code 55 now but its only cranking not running so dont suppose it will throw anything up until / if it ever starts again!!

yeah you're right, now you have cleared them, new codes wont get thrown up until you actually drive. I still think code 18 is rogue, as I had the exact same issue.
