my front tyres are screeeeeching on turning in car parks etc.... never used to

i know the rear ones can if the lsd oil needs changing..... so is this the same for the front diff

but then im not in 4wd anyway so why would they screech

or do i have another problem ?

its not the belt for sure

thanks in advance

There are three car parks near me where my tyres screech... Ikea, a local business park and a multi-storey. Doesnt need to be at speed to do it either!!!
Dont know why - never do it in other car parks!

I just decided it must be something to do with the tarmac in them ones!

Besides, I rather like 'screechin' round the multi-storey!!! :)

Does it do it everytime your turning or just now and again?

beleve its the high grip surface they paint onto the concrete in the multistorey, bit
like stuff found in accident hotspots are where buslanes are colour coded etc. ours
does too, sounds like an old yank car chase scene.

only just started today. on roads im always on

and def sounds like the front wheels..... but the have no drive to them in 2wd so its odd...........

my thought is the auto hubs might not have disengaged from days ago . i cant think of any other reason for it to screeeeeeeeeech
itermitantly but it only happened say 10 times in 50 miles and only today

have you been driving up kerbs Extreme??

that will knock the tracking out

Can screech if tracking is out.

spent loads on tracking balancing even got all 4 wheels balanced to try and get it spot on.... that still dont feel comfortable , and i was there when they did it all, under the ramp with them ...i had a feeling it was not spot on. you know when someone else comes over and they chat and point and the look they give each other.... yes it still drives to the left. so id say the tracking is still out.

trouble is you limited by who can do it with 31 10.5 15's on not many people local can do it

will re configure the torsion bars over weekend then pop some standard wheels on and get it all done again. then put my big wheels on again after

only other two things i really need help on is

the load thing for the brakes how do i adjust it to get brakes better

and the dampers i think are dead when are your new shocks available terra

My tyres only screech in Sainsbury's filling station. I've not noticed it anywhere else. I've put it down to the surface.

I had some major handling issues with my truck when I first had it. I found it to be that the OSF brake caliper was seized on. Once both were replaced, and new pads fitted, it's been brilliant, even with the torsion bars tweeked, and the front ARB binned.

Are you sure you haven't got a bent rim or something silly like that ?

Lee.

funny i just did my front brakes today and my handeling is 90 percent better now ,,,,, still got loads of screech

hope to change the diff oils etc and maybe fix it

I got a screech on full or near full lock with my last car. It needed the power steering fluid changed (i think - that is what i was told not being technically minded). Whatever they did it sorted it out - no more screeching.

Try checking your air pressure in the tyres often a little bit down on pressure can cause the squeal on concrete surfaces.

funny i let the tyres down a little too to 26 on the fronts , as i thought that might have been causing problems elsewhere....

ill try them back up again

"back up"? 26 is where they should be innit?!

And you'll be happy to hear both my T2s squeal on smooth tarmac in supermarkets, car parks etc...Z4 with wider tyres doesn't make a sound...

When I had the KL71's fitted to mine, the ride was very hard. I checked the tyre pressures, and KwikFit had them all at 36 psi :doh. I've dropped them to 30 psi, more compliant on-road, and still capable off-road.
