Have I been blagged here or do people actually do this?

If it is a thing, what are the performance benefits like?

Dead engine unless u can match the fuelling requirements and tbh the amount of work to add a big turbo would cost thousands

dont know about a scania turbo but i know makeitfit uprated his turbo pretty cheap

A bigger turbo on a diesel motor does not necessarily mean more power, turbo's are sized to the cubic capacity and expected exhaust flow.So a larger turbo will in theory actually lose poer over standard. The way to go is twin turbo's 1 large and a smaller one that accelerates the exhaust gases to the larger of the two

Turbo laaaaaaag would be diabolical :doh
TDi is restricted by the fly by wire fuel pump, so a bigger turbo would , eventually, put more wind in but your pump would never give you enough fuel
What you need is some LPG up your chuff :sly
That way you can mod the turbo a bit with a bigger compressor wheel. Chip the ecu or MAF amp etc to boost the fuel as best you can. High flow air intake via KnN for example. High flow 2 1/2" exhaust . Also a bigger intercooler to chill the hot stuff from the turbo.
The LPG will allow nearly all the diesel charge to burn instead of going out the zorst. You'll gain around 30% :naughty
Simples :freak3:

you have to be careful here as more turbo power demands less compression ratio, I remember the Volvo twin turbo 290 bhp from a 7 ltr engine, due to the lower compression ratio it had a lock out that would not allow it to start until the glow plugs were at full glow, then in the winter there was not enough left to turn the motor over, happy days, my 280 Daff with a Leyland engine never gave any start problems, Rick

I've heard about this!!! lol, In fact I'm sure I've seen one somewhere with a dual battery setup
