New shoes, wheel cylinders and fitting kit! The large man sized cable ties round the shoes keeps them in place whilst you get the spring on! Makes it a lot easier [emoji3]

I thought that was to stop the material falling off he carriers, those Bosch shoes are sketchy :doh

Looking good so far Bigbunny, sorry couldn't get over as the delivery didn't arrive until nearly 4:00.

No probs Jim, anytime your passing mate :thumb2

Banshee don't curse them :lol:lol:lol
When I built them up I was trying to work out what could have caused it and came to the conclusion they must bind some how either handbrake cable sticking or wheel cylinders seizing! This causing extreme heat and killing everything inside the drum :nenau

Tbf my bosch ones where 8 years old according to the service history so not a bad run I suppose :nenau

8 years is fair! Theses were pretty new as the other side was in good shape :nenau
I'll be keeping an eye on them and checking they aren't binding! Ive not done the adjusters up too much neither.
Need to do the drivers side on my blue beast too, that's spat brake fluid out!!Least I'm well practiced :thumb2

Mine still had plenty of meat left on them. Had to do the cylinders on mine aswell and the brakes pipes across the rear diff.
All original parts also so 15 years service from them is good going :thumb2
Braided flexi hoses are next on the list.
Found a hydraulics place near me that does them so I will get some price's.
Going for standard length fronts and +2" for the rear.

I fit the spring with the shoes in front of the wheel cylinder, then a gentle pull and engage them into the slot of the cylinders. Simples.. No gripping and slipping of springs, no swearing.

I 2nd that!!!! So if they knock a couple a sets up. What are they likely to cost compared to normal hose? Timing is crucial on this one as I'm skint at the moment, too many bloody projects on the go.

Sorry Craig, yeah either that or the glue they were using was crap and when heated it just didn't feel like sticking anymore :doh

So here is my list of jobs for next week! Lol
Put it in for a test to see what I needed to do rather than spending time doing things that did not need doing! Pretty pleased to be honest as I knew all of the faults bar a few! The only cost is the exhaust centre and rear sections.

Removed the passenger front wing today to get better access to weld the inner wing. The wing is worse than I thought!! Not sure what to even do about the wing now! Might just be a bodge it to get re test done while it's a free re test then search for a pair of wings!! Grrrr

I fibre glassed mine, was only meant to be temp but it looked better than I thought when I painted it and it is solid, wish I could do the same with the sills lol

i cut out the rot, welded and filled my drivers side front wing.not the best repair iv'e done but better than a holes and rot.

I thought about fibre glass but was not sure how I would get the lip around the wing, as a lot of it is missing! Also thought about welding it but for now I've just put it back as its in for the re test in the morning!! Fingers crossed it should now pass but need to look at doing something more on the front wings in the not too distant future!
