Changed the oil and binned the sidesteps!

How do you think this would handle the Strata bombhole? :sly

Now you see it...

...now you don't!! :D

There's a light at the end of the tunnel :augie

ABRA...

...CADABRA :thumbs

Foxy's cavernous backend *cough*:augie

Gave the MAF a spray with contact cleaner as well, although it was practically pristine anyway (VERY pleased about that!) :thumb2

Whats the problem with steps ?

OK got to ask why bin the steps ?

I think they do a good job of protecting the doors etc from mud & stuff.

I also think they look cool & chunky !

'cause they continually get twatted by rocks and stuff when off road
I've seen so many trucks stuck on a lump with the stupid things bent so it's hard to extract the truck off said lump.
Bin 'em, lft it, go hard, sorted :sly

What Makeitfit said :lol

You can probably see in the pics that the rubber on the nearside step had already been partially stripped off from catching on rocks etc when offroading and the offside one was bent up against the sill by an impact when I did Strata (it has actually very slightly bent the panel over the sill). Also, you'd be surprised by how much mud was stuck between the steps and the sill.

Protective factor is very very marginal and judging by how much they get caught when offroad I figured it was just a matter of time before they got ripped off or bent up into the sill properly (R1cho had his pushed straight through his sill by a rock impact ).

Also, I was continually catching the back of my leg on them when I got in or out of the Troll and although I thought they looked quite sexy when I bought the truck, I like the look of her a lot better without them!

I'll be getting rock sliders fabbed and fitted before I go to Transylvania :thumbs

I wished i had somewhere under cover to work on my t2.

Looking good mate, Wish I had access to farm buildings like that ;)

Hows the plans comming on with the winch bumper/winch?

Cheers bud, I am very lucky to have access to that shed (a mates) and I've also got my own, slightly smaller, tractor shed available if I can't use the big one :D

Yours is pretty good as well though! :thumb2

Been pretty busy getting our sheep flock ready for its dispersal in a weeks time (sad occasion :( ) so haven't really had much time to do stuff with the winch and bumper... apart from stroke them lovingly everytime I'm at the farm *cough* :augie (I also want to switch insurance companies before I fit them so have to make sure I have enough funds for that first!) Fitting them involves cutting some little bits off the front of the chassis that aren't there on Oz spec machines (I checked the Patrol Forums and the bits are just spot welded to the rails) so it's likely going to be a near enough full weekend job.

If I've had a spare moment any work with the truck recently has been limited to smaller jobs although I am planning to fit the roofrack this weekend - was going to do it on Saturday but discovered I'm gonna have to take the grinder to the holders for the roof gutter clamps as they don't go narrow enough for my roof at the moment (hazard of buying a universal rack).

I'm gonna need the roofrack to bring down your goodies :D which I will take photos of this weekend, promise! (Was so busy this weekend I didn't get a chance to as the big shed is at my mates and your stuff is all at our farm)

looks good, mine were just the bare pole no step piece on top so worked well for me! haven't had them get me stuck just the towbar :doh

You recently drained your LSD oil or you got a leakey seal?

No LSD on the Troll bud, she's got a proper locker :p changed the oil within the last month-ish, but that ain't oil marks... it's polished bits from rubbing the diff when I was offroading last sunday! :lol
