Sat-nav and Memory map

:banghead:banghead:banghead Is how I've been feeling lately, I can't seem to find the info I'm looking for. I have a Snooper S7000 sat-nav....


Does anyone know if Memory map can be uploaded to/installed on or used well with something like this, has anybody done it or got something similar?

I have seen the same unit that I have on youtube with a Memory map sticker over the Snooper one https://youtu.be/zgX4Z6nZNdY, I want to be able to do this with mine but I don't know if I can set it up like this myself or if it's only possible with the ones sold as Memory map S7000.
I don't know a great deal about this stuff, not my bag really, any help and advice would be very appreciated :thumb2

Memory Map is a cracking mapping software that uses OS maps so ideal for green laning.
My son set it up on a Samsung Android tablet and it worked really well. Not seen your device before but will ask him when he comes in from the pub:doh

I used a PDA with a GPS receiver when I first started using memory map.
Then onto an iPad mini and currently on an android tablet.
I know certain sat navs are capable of running mm but clueless as to which ones they are.

Ah, so if I buy the disk and it doesn't work with sat-nav I can just use my tablet, cool

Do you use 1:50 or 1:25?, I'm going to buy the 1:50 I reckon as it is quite a bit cheaper and have been told it is more than good enough for what I want to do.

I've got the whole country in 25k Explorer for the price of £5 if you want mate, the discs will be sent to you in the post, also included a cracked version of Memory Maps with Keygen :sly

Right then, the Snooper S7000 I have probably won't work with memory map. Apparently the memory map S7000 came with specific software on it which the Snooper won't have.

So I will use my Samsung Android tablet instead, it has gps which seems to be working and it has a 10.1" screen. :thumb2

I was thinking the same thing bud but I don't think so. I turned the internet function off and the gps on and it knew where I was on mm indicated by a sort of target that was blinking, I turned gps off and it went grey. I will be having a ride out in a while with just the gps on to see what happens, there will be an update :thumb2

I've been using MM for about ten years now, and love it!
If your target is red and winking, you have built-in GPS!
You'll also see, once your moving that the winking target also has a directional arrow which will grow longer as your speed increases. This is useful to confirm which way your moving when at a junction of lanes etc.
Have fun!, MM is bombproof.

Is there a minimun storage requirement do you know, I might buy an SD card to be safe :thumb2

Each map is cached at only 300mb or thereabouts on my device
While running MM on a trip, it's a very economical programme on battery power too.
I also run MM on a netbook which I know doesn't have a large storage capacity. I don't know the minimum requirement.

Thanks Davey, sounds promising. I imagine mm website will have that info, I just need to look. It isn't a deciding factor anyhow. Battery life is encouraging too.

I'm a bit disappointed that it probably won't work on my Snooper, it has a plug in antenna to boost the gps or tv signal (depends which socket I plug it into) which would have been handy.
