It's to get some proper articulation. The IFS on the T2 is mucho restricting. Also gets rid of the terranos weakest bit, the crap steering :doh
It also allows the easy install of LSD up front or even a full locker as on the patrol
He also implies the live axle setup is actually lighter than all the IFS stuff :thumbs

also you can lift the truck higher, aslong as the prop angles are not too much. I suppose you could even drop the transfer box.

Although it looks nicely lifted as is in the post I linked.

Pete did you read the part where is says the chassis is the same as other nissans with a live front axle? Or am i just reading things wrong
